๐Ÿ‘‹ Good news, everybody! We're back with another fun and interactive livestream this week. ๐Ÿ˜ After policies and things related to Cerbos specifically, one of the other big topic areas that we get questions on is open source. So, on Tuesday 22 October at 17:00 UTC (check your local time), itโ€™s everything you wanted to know about Open Source, but were afraid to ask. What is open source, how do you get started, and how do you stay healthy as an OSS contributor or maintainer? Send me your questions via DM or email now! ๐Ÿ‘ p.s. Worried about missing it? Check this ๐Ÿงต for handy calendar links ๐Ÿ™‚

Q: How not get burned out as a maintainer? I was a maintainer and maker of the popular Awesome list, getting a lot of PRs weekly and it felt overwhelming...

Question: How do you present/organize open source contribs on a resume/cv?

@Fatuma A: we hired a junior front-end developer who showed awesome, well-structured OS projects he did as fun apps. It was non-profit, non-commercial but very well structured, clean code. OS projects are great as a portfolio.

@Lisa Dziuba that's so cool! For me, I have general opensource contributions and one project I try to maintain. I find it hard to articulate on a resume. Like is it supposed to be under work experience? It's own section? Should I list by organisation or by volume and such. I did come across a project called "OpenSauced" while trying to find a way to show my contributions on my site and ended up being a regular-ish contributor there

Imho, a section for "Open Source" could make sense, with your highlights. Generically, you should pick ones that have name recognitionโ€”but specific job opportunities might be more interested in one or another, so definitely keep it modular.
